Can False Teeth Be Whitened?

In short, false teeth (dentures) unfortunately cannot be whitened like natural teeth can be. Using whitening products or whitening kits can be damaging to your dentures and can also be bad for your gums.

This doesn’t mean to say that if your dentures are starting to look grubby or discolored that there isn’t anything you can’t do. We offer free denture assessments so we can examine your current dentures and see if there is anything we can do at our dental laboratory to meet your needs.

How Can I Prevent My Teeth From Discoloring?

Just like natural teeth, dentures can start to fade over time especially if you eat and drink known substances that can aid in staining teeth e.g. red wine, coffee, dark sauces etc. If you maintain a healthy oral hygiene regime where you consistently clean your dentures every day, you can help prolong the life and look of your fake teeth.
