What Are Implant Retained Dentures?
If you are looking for a secure way of replacing sets of missing teeth, implants are a great way to do so. They are titanium screws which fuses to your jawbone and act as anchor/roots of the teeth they are replacing. The dentures are then securely fixed to the implants. This treatment is also often referred to as “overdentures”.
What Are the Benefits of Overdentures
Not only will you have new teeth, but they will also be permanently fixed in your mouth. You will no longer have to worry about your false teeth’s stability!
One of the main benefits of having implants is the fact that it helps promote healthy bone growth and it can stop the affects of bone resorption. When you lose a tooth or multipe teeth, the site of the missing tooth’s bone can start to die away and recede, which often leads to other teeth falling out. Implants can help regenerate your jawbone which in turn can help to stabilise any remaining teeth.
What Is The Implants Procedure
We work with implant dentists who will carry out the implant procedure at their clinic. We will work closely with them to ensure that the final restoration that is used to go on top of the implant is precisely made to your specifications. The more precise a denture, the more comfortable and functional it will be!
At Creating Smiles we work with a local dentist who will place the dental implants which will then securely hold in place the custom made denture (also known as Overdentures when attached to implants).
Dr Faresh Desai (BDS MFGDP DipRestDent RCS (Eng) DipImpDent RCS (Eng) Adv Cert) has been placing dental implants for many years, and is an experienced dental implant dentist. Dr Desai is able to offer appointments at both of his local practices:
