Should I Get Dentures?
Dentures are one of the most common ways to replace missing teeth and has been for many many years. However, dentures have come on in leaps and bounds and are now seen as more socially acceptable.
A lot of this comes down to the fact that when custom made dentures are made for you as an individual. Every patient we see will have different needs and more importantly, there are no two mouths that are the same.
For one, the biggest factor that vary from patient to patient is the number of missing teeth you have. Not all denture patients will have a full denture. Partial dentures are very common and are used to replace partial sets of teeth depending on the teeth you have missing.
When we lose teeth we are left with the bone/gum ridges. These will also vary and every millimeter difference will make a huge difference in whether or not the denture will be comfortable. The longer we have lost the teeth for, the bone ridges will start to change over a period of time and will be even more different from any other patient.
One of the most important aspects of making a new denture is to ensure that careful measurements are taken, and that the denture is not a generic made device, but 100% custom made for the patient we are seeing. We pride ourselves on our custom made dentures.
By being custom made you can expect greater comfort and functionality. They will feel nearly as good as your natural teeth did. We also like to make aesthetically pleasing dentures.
